Isn't it Amazing?

I found this on Second Life Insider the other day and I just had a chance to really read the article in the New York Times that it refers to. It's My (Virtual) World is an amusing and well written piece about visiting Second Life. Interestingly enough it's under the tab for "Travel" on their site and the heading is: Escapes. Truly amazing when something like Second Life is investigated and published for millions of readers.

It is a flattering and inviting piece for Linden Labs and for the pixel world we all know as SL. Although I hadn't been to any of the places the writer describes, and I'm fairly sure that my modem could not withstand a live concert of any kind :P, I will be looking forward to visiting those places as soon as I can. From his perspective, it was very interesting to see how taken he could be with it after his 'cyberweekend'.

On the downside, this article like many before it doesn't quite do justice to the BEAST in SL we all know as fashion and the related blogs/fansites/commentaries that are connected. But, alas, it was written by a man... we all know about men and fashion :P

Yeah, one of the local TV stations in Los Angeles did a little report on SL this week; it was mostly about commerce here. The reporter made her own avie and was walking thru the noob training area where you saw a random nude avie...she implied that there was a drawback to SL...you didn't get any clothes and you had bring money into the game to buy them...which we all know is totally untrue. Noob clothes aren't the cutest, but they don't throw you into the game naked. Sheesh! Get your facts straight! Okay, I'm done...lol :D
